Caesars Entertainment Photo Contest Website

Project Overview

Caesars Entertainment launched the Then and Now campaign to celebrate the historical significance of their Horseshoe Casino, located in a landmark building in downtown Cleveland. The goal was to engage the local community by inviting them to submit side-by-side “then and now” photos of themselves at notable spots in the city, past and present.

The Challenge

We were tasked with creating a web-based experience that enabled photo submission, streamlined content moderation for Caesars’ team, and showcased selected entries—all while maintaining consistency with Caesars’ primary website and supporting both mobile and desktop users.

My Role

As the Interaction Designer, I led the design of the photo upload interface. Key responsibilities included:

  • Designing for usability across devices: Mobile and desktop devices handle photo access differently, so I created a flexible UI that made uploading simple and intuitive on both platforms.
  • Seamless integration: I designed user flows that smoothly transitioned users from Caesars’ main site to the submission app and back, preserving brand consistency and user trust.
  • User guidance and feedback: The interface included real-time feedback on file types, upload success, and next steps to reduce friction and increase successful submissions.

Outcomes

  • A responsive web app that met brand guidelines and integrated with Caesars’ digital ecosystem
  • A well-received campaign that celebrated personal and civic history while reinforcing the casino’s ties to the Cleveland community
